Monday TO Saturday / Sunday only afternoon time
Note: Closed for Check Ins and Check Outs on all Public Holidays
All guests are greeted in the morning by our staff, we open early and allow access to their courtyard so that our guests can get busy with their business.
We then start the daily exercise routine and cleaning. All guests in the first wing get to walk in the morning and the other wing gets time to play in our large play yards. Our guest’s rooms are scrubbed and sanitised, and all bowls refreshed with water. Bedding is checked and changed as required. Their outdoor courtyard is cleaned.
Once guests have had time to relax and cool down from their morning exercise it is then time for breakfast. Breakfast is individually prepared for each guest as per owner’s instructions.
After breakfast, our guests can either lay in their room or play in their yard under shade cloth basking in the filtered sun. During the hotter months we have our misters going and if requested access to shell pools. They are also able to interact with the guests on either side through the see through fencing. Some may choose to play with their toys or chew on a Kong full of yummy treats.
Afternoon comes around very quickly and the fun starts again. We alternate the wings activities giving the first wing play yard time, and the second wing a pleasureful walk. Each room is again scrubbed and sanitised, and water bowls refreshed. Bedding is checked and changed as required. Their outdoor run is cleaned.
Once our guests are all settled, dinner is individually prepared and served, this is always the exciting time of the day “mealtime”. The doggie doors are left open so that guests can go out into their own courtyard and finish their business for the day.
At the end of the day when our guests are all settled and happy in their beds, if they have PJ’s they are put on , the doggie doors are closed, and all are wished a good night and that we will see them bright eyed and bushy tailed in the morning. Lights go out
Our guest really enjoy their walks as it’s a wonderful time to explore and sniff the Lucious property, we match the pace of every dog so they can enjoy a leisurely stroll or a brisk walk depending on how they feel. They can play at the dam whilst on their walk or take in all the smells as they go down the path. We might pass a wallaby or kangaroo and see a bush turkey or 3.
Play time in the yards is also a lot of fun, for those who like to burn energy, there is plenty of ball throwing, frisbee catching and zoomies just for fun. However, nothing beats just sitting on the grass with our staff having cuddles and kisses.
Our purpose-built 5-star facility was designed to ensure the comfort, enjoyment, and security of our guests whilst they holiday here with us. Guests have their own extra-large bedroom, where they can feel secure and relax in a private environment. Guests have continuous access to lounge inside their private room, interact with toys and go for their daily walks and yard plays. Each room has its own separate courtyard which provides them with a safe all day access turfed yard to play and socialise whilst providing security and safety.
Our rooms are spacious, filled with natural light, ceiling fans and TVs for those who enjoy watching a bit of telly and thrive off a more homely feel.
All our appliances are commercially rated starting from our Fridges, Freezers, washing machines, dishwasher and floor scrubbers which ensure for a clean and hygienic environment for all our guests to enjoy.
We are set on a rural 45-acre property which is a mix of luscious grass and treed areas with amazing bush tracks for our guests to enjoy. We have dedicated secure yards for off-lead play and a dam to cool off in the warmer months. Our staff love to watch our guests on their adventures as they enjoy all the smells and interesting things they come across on our dedicated trails, we don’t tell them it is their exercise.
To make our guests that stay here as comfortable and as safe as possible, there are a few things that need to be arranged prior to arrival at the Hotel.
Prior to arriving
Upon arrival
Please ensure you have your furry friend on lead when you take them from your vehicle. Ensure that you leave enough time to check in, as we need to ensure we have all your information, and a full handover is given prior to you departing. Check in times can be busy so we ask for your patience during this time. At check-in please be prepared to answer the following questions:
Here at The Hound Hotel all guests must be fully immunised, and proof of vaccination records are required to show they are up to date. Whilst there are many different combinations of vaccinations our guest needs to ensure that their vaccination combination is current and equal to a C5 level. Please consult with your veterinarian if you are not sure.
If you are needing to give your pet their booster prior to checking in, please ensure that it is at is administered at least 14 days prior to check in. We need to ensure that the vaccination has been given time to give your pet the level of immunity they need. Some vaccinations are live viruses, which, means some pets will get a mild symptoms, they will shed and could be contagious which could spread to other guests in the facility, as diseases like Kennel Cough can still be caught even though they are vaccinated it just lessens the symptoms.
If your pet has never been vaccinated or 3 months out of date, please speak with your vet for timelines needed prior to checking in to ensure immunity.
Titre Test is another way we can check for antibodies for the core C3 viruses (Parvovirus, Distemper, Adenovirus). This test will be accepted if the result shows a history of these C3 vaccinations being given and the test is less than 12 months since the test results were taken. We require the print outs of the test showing the levels and the vaccination certificate from the vet. We will not accept if there is no history or if it is a puppy and they have not completed their puppy vaccination protocol.
You can upload your current vaccination certificate to your pets profile so that we have it on file and it makes check-in easier.
We love to send our guests home smelling like roses, so we provide a warm hydro bath for all guests that stay more than 6 nights.
If our guest is in for a quick holiday and you would like them to have a bath that is no problem, we can arrange this. Cost is $20 for small, $25 for medium, $30 for large and $35.00 for the extra-large guest.
You can add this to your booking when you are making the booking or request at check in.
Yandina Hound Hotel has a large variety of beds and bedding which can be provided during our guests stay. However, we are happy for you to bring in our guest’s bed, blanket, toys or their preferred sleeping arrangement to keep them as comfortable as possible.
We ask that what-ever items you bring in if they get damaged you will understand. Sometimes it is great fun having a pillow fight in the room.
Here at The Hound Hotel we are very particular about our guests diet. We strive to ensure that our guests are kept on the same diet here as they would be at home. This is why we stock a large variety of high quality dry and wet foods. If your diet combination is not on our list below, we are happy for you to bring your pet’s diet in for us to feed. We have plenty of Freezer and Fridge space for this purpose. We find that this assists us with our guests settling in easily especially if this is what they like to eat at home and are fussy eaters, less changes for them the better.
If you have any concerns, please feel free to contact us prior to your pets stay to discuss diet requirements.
If you are bringing in your pet’s diet, please mark containers/packages clearly so that we know the quantities to feed, what feed it is and who it belongs to. Always give us more than needed you never know when you have to extend the stay, we will return un-used food to you.
We ask that you don’t change your pet’s diet just before their stay unless it is necessary and if so tell us of the changes so that we are aware.
We are happy for you to bring in your special treats, however we ask that you don’t bring in bones, chicken frames, chicken necks and hide products.
If you use a slow feeder at home, please tell us on check in. We have different types of slow feeders for our guests that we can also provide. If your pet doesn’t use a slow feeder however, we feel it’s necessary during their stay we may incorporate this into mealtime.

We are here to ensure our guests are cared for and monitored for any signs of unwellness.
If we feel our guest is needing veterinarian care, where possible we will use your preferred vet. If this is not a possibility, we will make the judgment call on which vet is the most suitable for the guests needs at the time.
We will communicate with you and if needed your vet as required.
We also have access to two 24-hour veterinary emergency centres within close proximity of our facility.
Where possible we will have you communicate with the treating vet at the time of consultation
To ensure fair compensation for our services, we charge for travel time, as well as for the time spent at the clinic. Our rate is $50.00 per hour.
Thank you for understanding!
We understand that not all our guests are at peak health, some of our guests require medication to make their quality of life the best it can be. Medications that are prescribed by your vet, we will happily administer. There is no charge for this service. However, if medications need to be given out of our working hours 6 -10.30 am and 2.30 -6.30 pm there will be an additional charge.
Please ensure that medications are clearly labelled with the veterinarian instructions and give us details on how you administer the medication and when.
We are happy to administer supplements at mealtimes or as treats as well. Please ensure that they are labelled and when you give them, so that we can follow your routine.
For complicated medication routines like insulin dependent guest, please speak with us so we can ensure we can meet your pet’s needs.
All guests that stay with us are required to be fully vaccinated against Kennel Cough. Just like our human flu shots it does not give your pet total immunity however, it just reduces the severity.
We use veterinary standard sterilising equipment and cleaning solutions for disease control, and we disinfect our facility twice a day. Whilst we take every precaution to ensure that we do not let any viruses/diseases in, sometimes this can still happen. Kennel Cough is airborne and can have a long incubation period. Some pets do not show symptoms (A Symptomatic) of the virus whilst they are highly contagious and shedding (spreading).
Kennel Cough is more prevalent at certain times of the year like our human flu.
